Our Paper Prototype
Building from our site map and sketches we created a paper prototype to quickly deduce the usability and interactions of our app. We conducted our usability testing by flipping the pages as the users tapped on different areas of the screen and by uploaded our paper prototype to POP mobile phone app. We gathered the feedback from the first stage of usability testing, iterated, and performed more usability testing.
News HubThe main page of the news hub gave thumbnails of the articles with a short description. The news articles are to be suggested article pulled from the areas around the neighborhood stops. For our design we plan to have a small pool of articles to choose from so riders can find common ground between them.

Login PromptAt this page of our paper prototype the user was asked to make a post to the message board. Attempting to make a post by tapping the chat drawer bring up a dialogue box prompting the user to login. Feedback from this interaction caused our design to change our chat drawer to a text entry field with a chat drawer. This allowed users to read posts without logging in.

Login PageThis login page follows when a user navigates to it directly or in the case of our usability testing, follows when the user accepts the prompt to login after attempting to make a post. Feedback from our testing brought to light a pain point of users wanting to navigate back to their article quickly without logging in. To handle this situation we added the "continue anonymously" link to ease navigation.

Reading PostsThis page shows a user logged in and reading the recent posts. The chat drawer is pulled halfway up, which allows the user to reference the article while they post, and the text field is available. Feedback caused us to change the login requirement to only be used for making post, not for reading the posts.

Transit Hub InteractionThe pop-up highlighted in blue shows what happened when the user tapped on a stop. The pop-up gives the user options to set a reminder and the type of tone or alarm for the stop. Our fully fleshed out application would allow users to reference not only the light rail routes but the bus routes as well.
